Getting close to the main event. Has the recipient been selected and chair ordered? I thought those things took a few weeks to manufacture and deliver

We've found several worthy candidates. I wish we could help them all, and maybe we can over time. Right now we're focused on a soldier who has a $2000 grant that's about to expire, and another group has raised about $1500 toward his trackchair. He still needs about $10k. That would leave us ~$5k for the next chair.
Hopefully we'll have an update in just a few days. I can't really say much until everything is confirmed. Don't want to get anyone's hopes up unnecessarily. Things are definitely happening in the background.

So for a few years now, I’ve been saying that I really want to come out to this event and one day I would. This year is the year. I have tickets booked to make a trip from Seattle to Texas for the weekend with my 4-year-old daughter. Looking forward to meeting Randy and Splunky in person. Hope some others can make it as well. Really hope that there will be other kids there for my girl to play with, she’s been looking forward to this event for months

Awesome! There are always a lot of kids at the event. Home Depot brings a bunch of tools and kits. They set up a workshop and keep the kids busy all day.

Re: WFTW Trackchair Fundraiser - Update!
Good news! Another charity, Bowlers for Veterans, raised and donated $3500 toward danmrf1962's trackchair! Dan also qualified for a $2000 grant. The total cost delivered with set-up, programming and orientation was $13,944. Bullionstacker contributed $8,444. The chair was ordered on March 22nd and expected to ship on April 17th. It will take 4-5 days to get to Texas. That leaves plenty of time for Dan to learn the chair and be familiar with it before the main event.
The chair is being customized to meet Dan's physical needs. It will also have a rifle rest, gun/tool holders, a fishing rod holder and of course, a cup holder. How cool is that?
This leaves us over $6400 towards the next chair. However, I propose that next we help Dan Peterson. (so many Dans!) This Dan already has a chair, but it needs repairs. Some of you know Dan. He's been mentioned here several times. His life was changed by the WFTW. Now he takes other wounded soldiers out wheeling and has a very important role with the WFTW. Who better to help reach out to wounded soldiers than another wounded soldier? Someone they can relate to. Someone who's been there and succeeded in turning things around.
After Dan P. then we'll continue to raise money to place another chair. We have a list of very worthy candidates. I'll share more on this after the main event.
One more thing, a few of us are meeting Dan (danmrf1962) next week for lunch. I'll have more info to share then.
What an amazing group we have here! Y'all are the absolute best!!!

Crossposting this here...
It was a most excellent day indeed! It was very cool to meet danmrf1962 and his wife. Always nice to put a name with a face. They're good folks. We made the right choice. Our goal with this trackchair project is to change a life and I'm very confident that we will meet that goal. Dan is very deserving. He's a fisherman and a hunter with no means to get out into nature. I hope he becomes a regular BS member. He's one of us
I gave him a BS bar today.
Dan-Stouttrout brought Dan Peterson's trackchair. (so many Dans!) It's 8 or 9 years old and has been very well used. The serial number is really low, 376 or something close to that. Melanie said they're well over 4000 now. We transferred the chair to our truck and today we're taking it to Action for refurbishing. danmrf1962 got to try it out in the restaurant parking lot. You should've seen him smile. He'll have his very own chair in just a few weeks.

Re: WFTW Trackchair Fundraiser - Chair delivered!
That's pretty damn cool and certainly useful for Dan. I'm a regular giver to the USO and the Salvation Army, but I knew nothing about WFTW until I became a member here.I was initally suspicous about WFTW, but this is proof it is real.
Great Job Randy!
If we've got over 5 grand for another chair, it might be time for another auction. I'd gladly donate again.
Dan's chair has a rifle rest? I'm LMAO, go Dan go!, bag a fat doe for the winter. Maybe a beer/soda cooler would be a great addition.

Re: WFTW Trackchair Fundraiser - Chair delivered!
I have two perfectly functional legs and I want to take one of those babies out for a spin. It's not hard to imagine what a life-changer a chair like this would be for someone who loves the outdoors but has mobility issues. I'm proud to have been a part of this effort.
Thanks for organizing this Randy.

Not sure if this will be continued but if it is, Track Chair has used chair that needs rehoming. They just posted it on Facebook. Randy, let me know what your thinking?

Even used it's probably more than we have. $5369.95 before the last KSA.

If you or someone knowledgeable wants to take a look at it, I don't mind tossing a few more grand in to get it if we think it's a deal. Everyone else trying to make a buck off crypto....I'm just here trying to spend it

I'll gather up the details so we can discuss this next week.

The chair Dan saw on FB was probably one for sale in Virginia, which has since sold. Carlson currently has a small used pediatric chair and will possibly have a full size chair soon.
