Yesterday I spoke with Mark Creaney. He received one of these chairs and it’s changed his life in so many ways. He wants to share his story about the Trackchair and what it’s done for him. Mark is a sound guy and ran the board at WFTW events for several years. He’s coming up next week and we’re going to record a podcast here in my office. Hopefully we can get Blue Angel on the line to join us. Mark knows more about running sound than I do so it should work out really well, and maybe I’ll learn something.
These chairs cost $11k - $18k+ depending on the model and options. They need to be customized specifically for the recipient’s needs. Used ones are sometimes available and can be adapted. That’s a lot of money but I know that over time we can do this. If you’d like to help with this project, please consider donating items in the monthly KSAs or pledging cash support. We’re open to any and all fundraising ideas. Maybe a special limited bar with all profits going toward the chair? Got any ideas?
We are not accepting funds just yet but feel free to pledge or post ideas.
I also need to mention that I’ve met Doug from Action several times and have talked to his daughter-in-law who is the office manager. They always bring a few chairs to the events for the soldiers to use. And I know Doug likes to follow up with chair owners and make sure they continue to work properly. I’m very impressed with what they do. Carlson is a family run company here central Texas. They're easy to work with and will make sure we get the best deal plus any grants and discounts available.
