This is my finished vector work for the 2d reverse of the 2018 editions. The 3d obverse is still on the to do list at the artists studio. Hoping that the 3d artwork will be finished in February sometime. Meanwhile the 2018 "Tsurukame" and "Tsukiakari" should go to mint after the new year.

Artwork for the 2019 edition(s). This is the first that I've had a reverse 3D created. The reverse will be paired with other earlier obverses that haven't met the mintage caps. Artist is Sandra Deiana.

I realize now I never posted the 2018 obverse that Heidi Wastweet did for me.

I received this years edition of the limited edition rounds I've been having commissioned. Haven't had a chance to post them anywhere for purchase yet, may be this weekend or next weekend. Busy with traveling for work for the next couple weeks. These are not bullion products but I am hoping to start some work on a common reverse round that I can produce at a closer to bullion price. Maybe some day I will be able to use this bullion piece to create my own 3D obverse artwork. Until then I will continue to commission the pros to do the 100 piece limited edition pieces.
This is the proof strike. Commissioned artist for this round is Sandra Deiana. The reverse (dated side) is totally her design and concept.

The 2019 reverse has also been used to produce 100 pieces Serials (0101-0200) paired with the Heidi Wastweet "Kyudo" obverse, also proof strike.

I'm having a tough time with the upper bow string angle. Design
is outstanding, angle is wrong.

A kyudo bow is not symetrical. To get the entire archer on the piece it was done this way or it would need to be shrunk to fit.

Friends,
I have made a change to the minting process for the pieces I have had commissioned. I have decided to return to my initial concept of a common reverse type of piece. I do like dates and numbers though so my plan moving forward is to have the common reverse dated so I will need to have a die made every year but it will have the common theme of the dragon from the Meiji period Japanese silver crown. I also have decided to use the 2oz. silver 39mm blanks for pieces starting this year. I will be working on a project to depict some of Japan's manhole covers. These are public works that depict local sites, history, lore, and traditions. I will also continue working with professional artists to create fine art sculpts to be used on the obverse of the common reverse. Cost being a factor in having sculpts made and dies being cut is a limiting factor, so I only figure on having a few new obverses created every year and probably only one sculpted piece. Once an obverse die is created it will be used at any time so these won't be limited in any way other than the economics of buying silver to have more produced. I have decided to continue using the "Kyudo" die and "Reflection" die. All other unique dies use will be discontinued.
The numbering process will change. The first 50 pieces produced using the unique obverse die will be numbered on the edge and have a small COA stating it is XX of 50 "First Strikes" using that die. Subsequent use of that die will be accompanied by a serialized COA tracking how many times that die was struck, but not edge numbered.
The final price per piece is not in stone but I'm hoping to hit the $49 per piece price point for 2oz. silver.
Why am I posting this?
I wanted to give BS an opportunity to select a serial number from 1-50 (see disclaimer below) if anyone would wish to purchase a specific one(s). This serial number would be theirs to keep for future editions (with no obligations to purchase future editions but the serial number will then become available to any one if you don't purchase.) Any left over serial numbers will be sold as usual through my normal outlets.
Post in this thread if you would like to secure a serial number first come first serve.
Please see the artwork for the layout of the 2020 common reverse and first obverse featuring the Ojiya city manhole cover. These will be available very soon.
DISCLAIMER: Serial numbers 001, 002, 003, 007, 010, 015, 020, 023, 034 & 050 are already reserved.
If you request these you will not get them.
