Update

The trackchair will be delivered later this month. Here's an excerpt from the latest email I got from Carlson Mobility with personal information removed.

We are getting the Trackchair ready for... and hope to deliver it soon... He chokes up with tears every time I talk with him ... you have really done something special. Such a privilege to witness such generosity, and the resulting joy.

I have attached his invoice ... he didn't want to ask for much. He's just thrilled to be getting a chair! I will get you pictures and a signed delivery form once it is in his hands. :)

The total was $11,839. As I mentioned before the WFTW is making up the difference of $601.79. The sidebar has been reset to $0 so we can start over on the next project.

There is another need that the new president of the WFTW has brought up. We're discussing shifting gears and changing the focus of the project going forward. I'll have more details soon.

In the left-hand sidebar under "Wheelers for the Wounded" you will see two direct links for making a donation to the trackchair project.

Trackchair Donations - Paypal
Trackchair Donations - Bitpay

Both of these links will allow you to make a donation specifically for this project.

Re: WFTW Trackchair Project - 2nd Chair Delivered!

Postby MaxGravy » Mon Jul 20, 2020

This project started in May 2018 with an idea from Yellek. Now, more than two years later, we've raised well over $20k, placed two trackchairs and spent several thousand dollars repairing a third. I cannot thank this community enough. Y'all did this, you made this happen. Stop for a second and put yourself in the place of these veteran heroes. Multiple injuries, multiple surgeries at the VA, unable to walk and stuck on disability for the rest of your life. Unable to get out and fish or hunt or even just be in nature. And then you get a call telling you that a group you've never heard of wants to give you a trackchair.

I received this email earlier today from Melanie at Carlson Mobility. She gave me permission to post it here along with a few photos.

Well done Bullionstacker!

:wftw:

Well, I don't cry at too many deliveries, but this one got me. You have changed a man's situation so much for the better. Thank you so so much!

He couldn't wait to get in the chair and just go get his mail! It is simply amazing the things we take for granted. He teared up multiple times, and I left him with both of us crying...

Wow. No words. He said thank you so many times I lost count. Pictures attached.

Sincerely
Melanie

So awesome to see. So glad to have been a part of this as well. With the world coming unglued, it does the heart good to see people helping people and making their life a little better.

Jeez, Melanie & Randy...

Thanks to all here who made this happen!

Obviously we should also be thanking all those at Carlson Mobility who made these trackchairs possible, in the 1st place.

Not to mention :wftw: for all that they've done with this, as well.

Because without them? We'd just be sitting on a big pile of fiat that had nowhere to go.

Enjoy your new life, fine sir! The least we could do, for all that you've sacrificed.

The last three donations totaling $415 went toward the 2nd trackchair. The WFTW only had to kick in $192.91. I know this was Shortstack's intention in the last KSA which raised $315. The other $100 was donated by Bucketeer.

Our current total is zero. All donations from now forward will go to the next project, which might take a twist. There are other needs that aren't being filled. I'll have an update on this in the coming weeks.

This group is special in so many ways. Most people here will spend an hour scouting eBay to save $.50 on a Morgan dollar but when it comes to helping and contributing to a good cause, everyone is generous beyond believe. I am blessed to have been a part of it and being able to attend the main event in person, life-changing experience. Randy and team, you have done a fantastic job and I am very much proud to be a part of this group!

I updated the total. It's currently $385. I'll be listing a few items this month and I encourage y'all to do so as well.

Let's get another chair!

The sidebar is now updated with donations from the last KSA. A good start on the third chair.

Total = $1,135
