Helen Waite wrote:I was alerted to this generous donation event and was happy to see that this is run by volunteers so donations go to help soldiers. I do appreciate our military personnel and would like to help. Unfortunately my main employer pays scant wages and I struggle to purchase my meds much less lunch at the center. I have had some upsetting encounters with a certain quacky member here but never the less I can scrape together something.

I pledge $10. I know that is not enough for a bar but it is what I can do.

If I can do $10 then many of you should be able to come with with something to help out this cause. Of course I think silver bars are a stupid thing to collect but it does seem to bring joy to these soldiers so it is probably worth it.

So get those dollars over to the quack guy to make this happen. I see you here Mr. DRP and you have donated nothing. Really? I know you have extra cash given all the buying you do. Now pony up. I see others too (names begin with C, R, S and many more). Don't make me call you out.

I have been tied up with my projects and have just now read this thread. Once again Miss Helen has made me feel guilty for her financial situation and I in turn feel obligated to make a 25.00 donation for myself and also a 25.00 donation for Miss Helen and just for the record, we kinda like the quacky member ;)

So just now? I called out Mr. DRP and he jumped in right away and now you do half of what he did (and what the quack guy did among others) while trying to cover some under me? I guess it does not really matter who it is attributed to BUT HALF? I will be talking to the Mrs. about this when she comes to visit tomorrow and pay for my lunch. Maybe if you up your amount I won't say anything.

And to the rest of you...I did a full $10...10 DOLLARS. That is a lot for me. I sacrificed. Three days of lunches plus a buck. What can you sacrifice for three days to help this worthy cause? I am sure $10 helps. I am watching you coin buyers so make sure you are in so that you get your coins in a timely manner. I am so grateful for the WWII soldiers who gave what they did for us. I am sure the current soldiers are just as worthy.

I am watching....

The final count is 158 bars! A big TEXAS thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.

The main event is this weekend and these bars will be given away to wounded soldiers. All Bullionstackers are welcome to attend and help us give these bars away. It's a fun and enlightening weekend that you will never forget. Come join us!
