I had a 1966 Mustang. I bought it for about $550 in 1979. It needed a lot of work but was a driver. It had a replacement 302 engine with a 4 barrel carberater that was fun and fast. I sold it in 1981 needing more work at a lower price.
I would like to get another early year Mustang, maybe a fastback, or possibly a late 60's GT/CS (California special) there is a guy driving a blue 1968 GT/CS around my neighborhood with a for sale sign on it :turtle:
My guess is it's way over priced.

Never heard of a CS. One thing i like about the Stangs, there are so many different models
I flew out to Palm Springs to pick up my 25th Ann TA convertible and the guy lived in one of those Million $ golf course houses. He had some kind of special mustang that he had parked in a enclosed garage all on ts own, he was so proud of that car, its was signed on the glove box by someone but i cant recall who it was. That car was beautiful.

I used to hate mustangs. The original was nice, but only the "old guys" drove them. Then the 70s hit and they got really terrible.
The fox body mustang was really cool, and everyone wanted one.
Everything from 1994+ was just awful.

Until the recent ones came out. Now i really like them. Ford has really stepped up their game in recent years.

Always loved mustangs but could never pull the trigger on one. Cars just always seemed like a way for money to fly out of my pocket.

Agreed what an ugly car. But had the best and still most used front end/suspension for any hot rod build

My brother just sold his 1966 Mustang to pay for college. My dad has a 2013 GT which he bought new (manual- fun to drive). I like the new body style, but they are way too expensive for me at this point in life.

Useless drivel, but my next door neighbor bought a 1965 Mustang new from the dealer. I was 5 or 6 years old and didn't give a flip. I ended up getting carpooled to and from elementary school in it once or twice a week from 1966-1969 .The neighbors moved away in 1969 (and I started riding my bicycle to school) and the neighborhood high school boys all drove hot rods and my cousins old HD shovelheads and knuckleheads.
My brother has had many new mustang's GTs in the last 10 years and the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS/RS. He took a beating buying and selling them. I didn't like them like the old muscle cars .

Those Knuckleheads are worth a small fortune now days, Panheads and Shovelheads are holding their value but any later year HD's are taking a huge loss, so many are for sale with no buyers.

The first Ford Mustang owner kept the car. It's now worth $350,000

It was her skylight blue convertible Ford Mustang, purchased at age 22 in 1964, that their family of six drove for 15 years.

Our family, with 6 kids, had 2 1966 mustangs among other cars. My dad drove one but the driver kids shared the other mustang to the point that I took one to college until I graduated. I was in no position to keep it as it aged to where it needed much maintenance. I always wanted to get a replacement but when I had the means years later and after seeing the restored ones I felt the memory was worth more than having to suffer the features from back then. If I become a gazillionare I will get one for the heck of it but likely would not drive it much.

Do we need an old-car thread? There could be interest.

Friend had a 91 convertible it was alright, corvette could take it on the corners, camaro of the time was a match for maybe I thought, both of them had doggy eights, 305? 302? I thought the camaro had a better look to it at the time it was kind of boxy looking. They put throttle bodies on these things, I thought it was the late 80's when the no more carbuerator EPA thing kicked in.
The small black is an amazing story, well even the big block, built America! The 100,000,000 chevy small block was built in 2011.
