I thought the upright God-fearing citizens of West Virginia had laws against that sort of thing.

Potts Mt is over the border in Virginia. Everybody winches and stacks their buddy in Virginia.

I joined the club. Im so happy with my 2014 with 41,000 miles.

I drove from Reno to north of Boise and I was really happy with the gas mileage. Taking backroads I just cruised at 45 to 60 mph pretty much the whole way and it sipped the gas.

Looks like ya'll could air down some more. Get a little bit more traction.

Go buy a cheap cowbell. The rig that takes a strap or winches, has to hang the cowbell on the front bumper. Stays there till someone else gets a strap or winches. Always a lot of fun.

Cool video.

Better now. She darn near didn't make it out of PA alive. The AOAA is no joke. I'll get a write up in a day or two.

I had a nice trip to the Anthracite off road park in Shamokin PA. Its a cool set of trails on mostly old mine works. The terrain was familiar and felt like most offloading I have done in the past with a few exceptions. First, all rocks in PA must be loose. I coundn't find stable ground anywhere. They were slick to. Lord help you if its raining. Second, folks in PA like tight trails. Don't get me wrong...I like tight and technical, BUT these trails were always snug. I often found myself setting my fenders and rockers onto trees to pivot without chancing real body damage. I'm cool with this but some folks might get their panties in a twist.

Trials ended up being total carnage for us. Normally, we wheel and then hit camp and pound the brews. This trip was Wheel, break stuff, stay up and fix stuff, and repeat. The short list of functional damage that comes to mind for our two rigs: Locked diff not disengaging, Peeled diff cover, Track bar broke, Broken steering stabilizer, Bent front axel shaft, Busted U-joint, and thats just the stuff that gets you down the road. Body damage....most panels, rear bumper bucked up (think its on the frame), hardtop almost got a hole punched through by a rock, a tail light busted, a head light busted, rear door handle busted off and door crumpled in, driver front fender tore off (after market good one). My bill(s) to get her back to where she was so far total about 2 ounces of gold. My buddy is just a hair less. I will say that the support staff in the area to help folks get road worthy is top notch. Jeeping is fun but if you do it hard....its a money pit.

The AOAA kicked our butts. Man was it fun.

Do they put "You must be less than <----- this wide -----> to ride" signs at the trail head?

"Shamokin" is sometimes used as an adjective around here. It generally refers to an improvised, shortcut, or otherwise questionable style or quality of building / repair work. Not unlike welding a wrench to a track bar

Coming back for more next year Doc?

Doc...how would you compare your current rig to a standard used low-mileage 2-door Wrangler?
