Relating to the stock market, I always liked the JP Morgan quote "I made a fortune getting out too soon." I always think about that when I sell a security for a profit, and it helps me not get frustrated when I should have held onto it longer.

Exactly. I also have to remind myself how many times I thought I could time a market and failed. Now I just try to be happy any time I can make a profit. Greed is a killer.
