Refining Rates for Market Harmony LLC

Postby Market Harmony » Sat Jan 14, 2012

Permanent thread for those interested in Market Harmony refining. Please do not delete until marked to delete.

Hi everyone. It has been suggested to me to start a thread here to create awareness to the refining rates that my company, Market Harmony LLC, can offer to everyone. It is quite simple to send scrap precious metals and coins to sell them to me.
Just follow this link: http://www.marketharmony.net/the-melt-shop.html

Just be sure that you fill out the PMDTR form when you submit scrap to me. There are some regulations which I must follow and keeping these forms is one of them.

2015 marks the 8th year of being in business. I started the company on 07/07/07. Thanks for your support.

I get asked quite a bit how the process works. Some people think that 14K needs to be separate from 10K and other types of gold. But, it does not. Here is what happens when you submit scrap precious metals to Market Harmony:

1.) A PMDTR is filled out with the lot# and the lot information (weight and description). Bullion (if indicated as bullion by the submitter) is recorded and goes to the bullion desk; the scrap then goes to the melt shop.

2.) Your scrap lots are combined together (10K, 14K, 18K, etc.). The entire lot is melted into a homogenous bar. The bar is cleaned of all non-metal and then recorded with the lot number on the bar. It then goes to the assay department.

3.) Your bar is accurately weighed in the assay department and then tested with XRF Spectrometry technology on 2 parts of the bar. With parts per million accuracy, and perfect weights, we are able to determine exactly how many ounces of gold, silver, and other metals are contained in the scrap lot that you sent to us.

4.) The information from the assay department goes to me and I write you a check based on the payout chart found on the website. If you sent bullion items, then I include that amount due in your check.

If you would like Market Harmony to purchase your scrap metal or bullion, then please send an email directly to me: michael(at)marketharmony.net Don't forget the ".net" I'll get you all set up.

I didn't see this answered but if one were to submit scrap to you, would they have the option of having a bar sent back to them vs a check?

As per point 6 in "important notes" on the Refining Rates page:

"Lots that are settled in casting grain intended to be recast into Market Harmony products will first be settled for the cash value. This value will then be applied as a credit against a separate invoice for the finished product."
