FORT SMITH, AR - A white male suspect entered a pawn shop in Fort Smith, Arkansas and attempted to sell several counterfeit gold coins (one ounce Buffalo, Eagle, and Kangaroo) in NGC holders.

Pawn shop owner out $14,000 after being sold fake gold

ENDICOTT, NY - A local pawn shop owner in Endicott is trying to recover after his business took a large hit. The reason for the hit is that he was sold fake gold.

Mohammad Farzad, owner of All Star Pawn Shop in Endicott, said last month two men on two separate occasions came to his shop to sell him 1 oz. gold bars.

$14,000 for 50 1oz gold bars, sounds like there should have been one more arrest.

I don't think the pawn shop owner actually bought 50 bars. He said the seller claimed to have 50 bars available. It only showed 12 -15 bars in the video.

I think someone who has 50 bars but wants to sell to a pawn shop is a huge red flag.

these ngc 1 oz gold coins all look obviously fake to me, but do the certs check out too?
too lazy to check :pop:

Yes, the cert numbers check out. The label style and all of the info is printed exactly as NGC's photos of the real slabs show.

well close enough at least, I went and checked in between errands, the the eagle label says burnished on one.

It might be interesting to use an IR camera for video clips of fake and real silver placed on ice cubes.
