Yep thats a pretty decent buy...I sold a 1/4,1/10 and 1/20 dragon a few weeks back for $685! Seems the Germans really like the lunar dragons. I have sold more lunar coins to Germans than anyone...I have also purchased a few gold gilded dragons from Germany.. Ill give ya $128 for it ;)

sweet!! I was at a coin show this past weekend and one dealer had his culls marked at $13.50 each. I picked out a few of the better pre 1905 Morgans. There was a bunch of 1921 Morgans in good shape in the bin, i probably should have grabbed them too.

Silver was $1.40 cheaper then, so it makes yours a better score. Plus they may be in better shape.

That was basically my reaction. Based on his timestamp, I'm thinking he sniped an ebay listing and is a lucky SOB

NewSilverGuy's eBay find smokes the deal I got but here goes:

I won (2) 1/10 GAEs for $250.52 free shipping. The 10% off eBay coupon brought the cost down to $112.74 each. That wasn't too bad and it's my first gold too so I'm pretty excited. :)

good score. GAE's aren't cheap in ebay. With the fee structure, those 1/10th have to sell for a lot or nobody would sell them on there.

This seller didn't appear to be a coin dealer at all and had no Powerseller status so he gave up 12%ish when you count the Paypal fee. I sincerely hope he bought those back in '98 (or for cheap) and made a reasonable profit.

Ebay fees are out of reason, even with the (maximum) 20% Powerseller discount on the final value. We haven't listed anything there in months.

I have quit selling there also. The only thing i have sold recently was a kangaroo at sunset. I will sell the D&D Crocs there when i get them, but that's it. I haven't even been buying on there lately either. All my buying lately has been on here. If they jack up the bing cashback up to about 15% or send me a coupon, then i'll start combing through the auctions.

HaHa. Just took GG&G for another ride. :o Seriously, he will work with you. He listed some items I wanted on Ebay so I could use Bing and Ebates and squeeze every FRN DCA out of the deal. :D

Just got a 2004 & a 2005 1/2 ounce NGC MS 69 gold eagle for $489.50 each off eBay ($550 minus 8% off via Bing and 3% off via Mr. Rebates). Not bad considering Apmex has the 2004 coin listed for $576.85.

I don't know much about graded coins, what exactly does NGC MS 69 mean? I just bought it because $489.50 for a 1/2 ounce eagle is a pretty good deal :D

Mint State (MS) 69. 70 is the highest and there is quite a price jump between 69 and 70 as most coins out of the mint are graded 69. The ones that do grade 70 are considered the perfect coin.

You will also see PF which means proof coins and the grading works on the same prinicple on these coins too. Again 69 is kinda standard and 70 is perfect. You will probably go through grading alot of mint coins to get that 1 that grades 70 and spend a lot of money trying to find the one that does grade 70.

There is a thread about buying graded coins and I will always buy a graded coin verus a raw coin if the price is around the same as the slab will protect the coin and it is authenicated by the grading service. Just make sure you are buying coins graded by NGS or PCGS. There are a lot of so called grading services out there but I only really trust these 2.
