Stouttrout's Harvey Update.

Postby Stouttrout » Mon Nov 06, 2017

First let me thank everyone in this family for donating, buying auctions and constantly checking our needs. Things are slowly getting back to a new normal. This will definitely be a year known for many losses. We closed on a newhouse in a new area, and we have the kiddo in a new school. We had an exit plan for SETX. We had planned tope holdout of business and out of there by 2020. Well, were washed out instead. The business is gone, and the house with everything in it washed away. Luckily none my renters were misplaced. While we have three homes to rebuild and will be starting over at 45, Kat and I have done this thrice before. Once when we married 20 years ago, once 2001when I had some medical issues, 2006 when Rita semi destroyed our home and again 2017. We are strong and get better at each time, though I really hope this is the last.

With this said, while we greatly appreciate the help, and having the extra funds available was true comfort just knowing we had some cushion, we are pulling it back together. I really believe this money should go to help others.

So, I would like all the contributors to help us decided what to do with it? Here is one idea I came up with. Wheelers for the Wounded will be Raffling the Jeep off this weekend. Would like to buy TICKETS with the funds and label them all "BULLION STACKER" If one of those wins, I would like BS to decide what to do with the Jeep.

Thoughts?

I think this is a great idea! Dan asked me about it and I suggested he post and see what y'all think.

I like that the money goes straight to the WFTW, and if one of these tickets wins, then I vote we donate the Jeep back to the WFTW so they can raffle it off again. Anyone have a different idea?

The event and drawing is this Saturday, November 11th, at Hidden Falls Adventure Park in Marble Falls, TX. Splunky and I will be there. If anyone would like to attend please send me a PM and I'll do whatever I can to help you get here.

Can it be raffled off (free raffle) to one of the wounded armed forces participants who have participated in the past?

Not saying this is the best idea, just throwing a different option out there.

I sent a PM to Dan and Jerry (current WFTW president) to see what they think. There may be issues. I know there was a lot of red tape setting up the raffle.

The last time we did looked into this there was a lot of liability and risk involved that we felt might jeopardize WFTW at some point. Also at the time, we had to sign a disclosure agreement with Fort Hood saying e would not gift them more than $50 value. Not sure how much of these are still in play.

Bump.

I really think the best idea is to use the money as Dan suggested. If one of the BS tickets wins then we donate the Jeep back to the WFTW. The drawing is 4 days away...
