Lucifer - TV Show on Fox

Postby jcz1 » Tue Jan 26, 2016

Anyone catch this new show last night? I think it's another comic (graphic novel?) based series (which itself was obviously derived from elsewhere).

I thought it was really good, which usually means it gets cancelled quickly.

I recorded it and watched today. It was  at first but ended being  . It could last being on FOX where the bar is lower. I will watch another but the novelty could wear off unless they improve the crime solving part.

with these redbox deals, I grabbed 4 movies tonight
2 went by in under an hour, ready to watch the Throwaways.
Goosebumps for the kids and wife upstairs, just had to walk out, even though I like Jack Black's acting

Agreed - 10 minutes in (or so) I was thinking it was blah, but it improved greatly.

Didn't watch this and wont. Kind of OT, but if you're looking for a good movie, watch Sicario. It's an instant classic.

I watched it and couldn't really figure out if I liked it or not. Found it to be corny and predictable. Throw in fast cars, hot chicks and rock and roll and that's enough to glue me. For a little while anyway. :)

finally watched this last night, I liked it from start to finish.
they really did set some things up very well like the likely recurring psychologist visits.
and while the co-star police officer woman was quite attractive, I was surprised I thought the psychologist was so attractive too  Damn, I must be getting really old

Followed that up last night with a series I tape regularly, Scorpion.
Just enjoy that show, combination of The Big Bang Theory meets Numbers with quite a bit of interpersonal stuff that glues the show together. The star of that show last night is really a good actor imo, his portrayal of a genius with massive social anxiety is pretty amazing to watch. His eyes were looking away and downward in such a way yesterday during a scene with Kathryn McPhee, reminded me of a couple friends I used to have that were very similar.

I liked it completely. But keep in mind, barring Alabama football or Playoff games in any sport, I typically watch about 2 hours of tv a month. So perhaps it doesn't take much to impress me. I may never see another episode. But I think I'd like to.

Is anyone still watching this? If so, did you know what was stolen before it was revealed? I did not, though it seems obvious now.

I was going to ask the same. Not too bad but wonder if it will last. Not surprised about the stolen object. Maybe just you and me jcz1.

just watched this last night and yes, I was so curious, then the obvious.

decent show, but still liking my Scorpion show better.
I used to be addicted to NCIS and last couple years, just don't watch much anymore.
Granted for me, the blackhawks are on and that's it for the night.

I thought this was a really well done 1st season.
not as dark or anywhere near satanic as it could have been.
fairly nice character development.
we'll see if it's picked up for season 2

This is my new favorite show.

They announced at the end of this past episode that it will return next season.

I think I prefer the brothers working against each other instead of together, but we'll see how it goes.

Some thought-provoking stuff in this show, like how Lucifer is not evil, but rather simply punishes evil. Yet mankind blames him for evil (the devil made me do it).

I must admit that I'm not as familiar with the source material for this show as I could be. Perhaps someone here can clue me in - is Lucifer and Amenadiel's mother mentioned? And why was she chained up?

Sadly, this season is now over... <piss+moan, piss+moan, etc> I think this was one of the better (if not best) episodic TV shows in some time. Hollywood actually dared to flaunt something non-Church mentality-approved in the face of mainstream right-wing Christian conservatisism. YIKES!

[major admission] I’m a total dog [/major admission], I admire the series representation of Lucifer (hence my new username), I regret the end of the current season of this season and I look forward to the start of the next season.

I can’t even begin to wonder what “Mom” will represent/involve and where the next season of this series will go. I’m not a TV groupie, but I’m looking forward to what comes next with this series...

This was a joke right? I know you don't think Hollywood gives a crap about Christianity, right?
