Agreed. That's a great idea John as my not so little girl is considering a biomed engineering major. When is the next event? Hopefully in the summer.

Oh well, she'll still be in school and spring season doesn't end 'til the 19th for me not including playoffs. Some team will be practicing that morning. Some day.

Re: WFTW Trackchair Fundraiser - Update!
I haven't updated this thread in a while. Donations have been slow the last few months, only ~$150 raised.
Now that the holidays are over, things are starting to happen. It's been difficult to coordinate everyone involved. We have a candidate and will be meeting with him soon. I expect to have several announcements over the next few weeks.
I'll be putting a few items in the KSAs this month and I encourage others to do the same. Please bid them up! This is a great cause. We need to get to at least $12k if not more.
I also want to share this plaque that the WFTW sent. At first I had mixed feelings about them spending money on such things, but it's important to be recognized. Most of their sponsors are corporations looking for publicity and new customers. Not so with Bullionstacker. We give from the heart not expecting anything in return.
I'm very proud of this group and everything we've accomplished over the years.
THANK YOU!

Re: WFTW Trackchair Fundraiser - Update!
That’s awesome!! I have an idea and really want to facilitate this myself but with my current travel schedule at work, I am not able to...............The idea is to do a WFTW Rolling Stop Auction. Have all members that want to donate items mail them in advance to the facilitator. Have one person group items in lots and run a big auction all to benefit this project. If someone volunteers to run the auction, I will mail some items and I am sure others will as well.

Great idea.

We also have a new Texas bar with a WFTW logo coming out soon. It's in the queue at YPS but probably a low priority right now.

Re: WFTW Trackchair Fundraiser - Update!
I just updated the sidebar with the latest total from the WFTW: $9,017.10
The upcoming KSAs and Rolling Stop Auctions should put us well over $10k.

I’ll bet we get close to a $13k total.

Re: WFTW Trackchair Fundraiser - Update!
I just received a spreadsheet from the WFTW showing all payments they've received for the trackchair. The total includes two checks that are in the mail. edit: Plus two other payments on the way.
This is incredible. I feel a tear welling up. What more can I say?
$14,891.60

Very happy to hear that! How close are we to covering the recipients track chair?
Thank you Max for making all of this possible.

Re: WFTW Trackchair Fundraiser - Update!
So what is the number we are trying to reach? I remember reading the Trackchairs go for between $11,000 and $18,000 so that means we are in the ball park, if not the infield.

We're very close if not already there. We're still working to find the right recipient. We want to change a life. There's someone out there who truly "needs" a chair to get their life back. There's a lot going on in the background right now to find the right person. These auctions turned a few heads.

To answer your question it depends on the needs of the person who receives it. Trackchairs are customized for different needs and uses. How will it be controlled? Does it need to be narrow for doorways? Does it need it to stand up? Will it be used for fishing or hunting or hiking? Each chair is unique. There are also refurbished chairs available.
I will have updates soon.

Re: WFTW Trackchair Fundraiser - Update!
Great job Team BullionStacker!!! At this point, no doubt in mind we can buy a chair. I do hope we can make it a surprise and present at the main event to an unsuspecting Hero. Maybe work with the family on modification needs. Are there timeline issues? The main event is in May, usually manufacturing processes and delivery takes some time. Had the supplier been selected? Who is running that part of the process? Too many questions?
