WFTW Main Event 2017

Howdy from Marble Falls, TX! The event has started and we're getting everything ready for tomorrow.

If anyone would like a t-shirt, hat, patch, etc, please let me know and I'll pick them up for you. Drop me a PM and I'll pick them up tomorrow. Prices are in the images below and we can work out the shipping later.

The t-shirts are available in all sizes, S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X, 4X and a few 5X. Black and Tan for men, Blue and Black for women, Green for children.

Once again the design was drawn by our very own Blue Angel.

Tickets for the Jeep LJ raffle are also available for $100. The Jeep is here and I'll post pics later, including the very cool roll cage that BS paid for.

Just got back home. I have a lot of pictures to post up. Pretty sure Randy does as well. Gotta get a little rest first.

Alright! Time to share some pictures and stories.

This is the pavillion and parking lot on Thursday. This is at Hidden Falls Adventure Park in Marble falls, Texas.



Just one part of the same parking area on Saturday.....We had well over 200 rigs come out to drive our wounded and veterans.





This is the very bad a$$ roll cage from the fundraiser we held here on Bullionstacker. This is a fully welded product from Poison Spider and was installed by the pros at 4Wheel Parts. This is in the 2005 LJ we are selling chances for. This rig is really awesome. New tires on this Rubicon model with custom hydro dipped wheels. Long arm suspension with new custom front/rear bumper and brand new Smittybuilt winch. (BTW....I can get you a chance on this awesome rig. We are only selling 1,000 chances at $100 each.)

















Under the pavillion on Friday morning. A couple of weeks ago they lost a section to a violent thunderstorm...

Saturday morning at about 6:45 am.....rigs parked on both sides of the road waiting for the gate to open.






About 8 am Saturday......already a crowd.





This is the beginning of the drivers meeting. A group named "Military Jeepers" does all the guiding, load out of passengers, recoveries. These guys are all active duty or retired Army. Then we have a ton of folks that bring out there rigs to offer up seats to take out our guests.





Jeffrey Santori warming up. This gentleman plays the Star Spangled Banner for us in a style like Jimi Hendrix. Very powerful and very moving.



Our wounded and their families arriving. We had 9 coach buses this year. They had police escort and a motorcycle escorts. The motorcyclists were with the Combat Veterans MC. Really an overwhelming experience.

There is a gentleman that has been with WFTW since inception. His name is Mark Creaney Sr. Mark was the sound man in the earlier years of the main event. Mark is a Vietnam veteran that served in the Shallow Water Navy on gunboats patrolling the deltas of South Vietnam. They dropped off Navy Seal teams. Mark was heavily exposed to Agent Orange and has been suffering greatly for many years for the effects. We were able to present Mark with a Trac Chair this weekend to assist him in getting around better. You can see that a regular wheel chair is a real pain getting around in the rocks and gravel. This new chair can go about anywhere. He can ride sitting or standing. It has a gun rack and fishing rod holders..It was paid for by a group called the Independence Fund but, we were the group that helped make it happen and presented it to him.

I am pretty sure Randy will be adding some photos and stories. I will add some more tomorrow showing some actual wheeling.

David Yeager was there as well as Randy's wife Brenda. We handed out all the silver bars and Randy will tell you how emotional that can get. You folks here at Bullionstacker should be very proud of all you have done and continue to do for Wheelers for the Wounded. The generosity and participation of THIS VERY GROUP has enabled WFTW to make those all important steps up to the next level. We just cannot express what this means in a few pictures. We provided a day of smiles and excitement to wounded from Fort Hood, Brooks Army Medical Center, Lackland AFB, and a homeless veterans shelter. There were SO many little, meaningful stories throughout the day. I drove Randy's Jeep, Thunderduck, with a special group including a Jeep driven by a double amputee with a triple amputee passenger. Thank you Randy and Brenda for allowing me to experience that. I got to ride as passenger with David Yeager in Stouttrouts jeep. We had a blast.

I am so very proud that I have gotten to know some of you and truly appreciate everything done to help us help others. May God bless you all.....
