I'll send out info later today. No hurry though. We plan to leave this open for at least a few more weeks.

Approximately how many wounded vets show up for the event?

We usually never quite know. Kind of a "fluid deal". We usually have maybe 100 or so sign up but, on the day of the event, sometimes hard to get them to get on the coach bus and leave the base. We have quite a few veterans that just drive up. We take out any veterans/active duty on the trails that want to go. Quite a few Viet Nam vets show up every year. Some of them just come to hang out and be a part of it. Believe me....there are a lot there with wounds we can't see. These silver bars are something they truly appreciate.
One of the guys that has always been there is suffering greatly from the effects of "Agent Orange". Mark Creany served in the "Brown Water Navy" in the rivers of Viet Nam. He was the sound man for the events when WFTW began. We made sure Mark has gotten one of these fine silver bars each year. Lots of emotion every time we have given him one....

Re: WFTW 2017: Donate a silver bar to a soldier
I was alerted to this generous donation event and was happy to see that this is run by volunteers so donations go to help soldiers. I do appreciate our military personnel and would like to help. Unfortunately my main employer pays scant wages and I struggle to purchase my meds much less lunch at the center. I have had some upsetting encounters with a certain quacky member here but never the less I can scrape together something.
I pledge $10. I know that is not enough for a bar but it is what I can do.
If I can do $10 then many of you should be able to come with with something to help out this cause. Of course I think silver bars are a stupid thing to collect but it does seem to bring joy to these soldiers so it is probably worth it.
So get those dollars over to the quack guy to make this happen. I see you here Mr. DRP and you have donated nothing. Really? I know you have extra cash given all the buying you do. Now pony up. I see others too (names begin with C, R, S and many more). Don't make me call you out.
