This was our second year helping out at the event which was held at the Community Center & Bingo Hall at Ft. Hood. The doors are open all day. Some soldiers just stop by to pick up the presents, but many bring their families and spend some time. Santa always makes an appearance and there are games and prizes for the kids. Lunch and goodies are provided as well. We do our best to make everyone feel special and important.
The Purple Santa is just one part of the WFTW but it's a very special part. This is a truly awesome organization. Splunky and I feel very honored to be able to help out and meet so many kind and caring people. It was a very special but difficult day. We heard stories today that made my blood boil. We live in a messed up world. How did things get so bad? I'm so very blessed to have Splunky as my wife and Texas as my home. Merry Christmas to all and please be very thankful for what you have.
Also, I want to mention that Bullionstacker was responsible for raising more than $1000 for this year's Purple Santa. WOW! THANK YOU!!! And thank you to the folks who bought survival bracelets from the fundraiser. I gave them away to the kids today.
