I thought MtGox got targeted by regulators? This is a month old.

On Tuesday, Dwolla announced that it had frozen Mt. Gox’s account at the request of federal investigators

Shutting down a dwolla account is not shutting down an exchange.

Admins were not to fond of my postings on Bitcoin here when I first joined, so I have refrained from any postings on the subject. It is still alive and well and no exchanges have been shut down however DHS did seize a bank account do to lack of registering as a money exchanger through FinCEN. Most media stories of Bitcoin are either ignorantly misinformed or outright hit pieces.

A few days ago Mt.Gox announced they are expecting to add Litecoin to their trading platform. This caused the price to spike and it has gone up and down the past few days. May be a good time to get in before the expected rise in price when it goes live on mt.gox.

ok, I downloaded the windows version.
Hit the mining button. Solo.
just to see what happens.
It's mining. I looked at some stats at another site, said the difficulty of mining has gone up considerably vs. early this year.

Basically, these are going to be confidential currencies that anyone can own, do business with in complete secrecy (I guess). Then when a bitcoin hits its production limit, a new currency like litecoin will start up....almost like a new country being formed with their own new currency.

thanks for the input brades.

I don't know why I can't understand this

I downloaded the Litecoin Wallet but from what I have read, I can't actually mine with it? Would I be able to mine on my home computer while browsing the forums and such? How do you 'cash in' your LTC?

So many questions, so much reading...

Downloading a miner and joining a pool is your best bet.
